The 2021 BC Lieutenant Governor's Wine Awards were announced last week by The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society. We cannot express enough our gratitude for the three medals Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery has received.
The BC Lieutenant Governor's Wine Awards recognizes excellence in winemaking for all licensed British Columbia wineries. Produced by the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society, it is the oldest wine judging competition in the Province. These awards offer the BC wine industry the opportunity to have their wines judged by 15 highly-respected judges from across Canada and abroad.
Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery took home two of only twenty Platinum medals awarded this season, plus a Silver medal. Wineries from around BC submit their finest wines for consideration; in 2020, over 745 wines were judged.
This year, our 2020 Original Vines Sémillon and 2018 Reserve Syrah were awarded the prestigious Platinum Medal, while our 2018 Reserve Malbec was awarded a Silver Medal. Although our Sémillon, unfortunately, is sold out entirely, both the Reserve Syrah and Reserve Malbec are still available via our tasting room or online store.
Congratulations to our Winemaker, Jeff Hundertmark, our Viticulartist, Brett Thiessen, and their incredible team for all their hard work, love, and dedication in creating these spectacular wines!
