2018 Original Vines PTG
WINEMAKING: PTG is a long standing practice called "passetoutgrains" which loosely translates to "throw all the grapes in". A traditional field blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir with 12% Pinot Gris were crushed into tank together where they underwent full Carbonic Maceration (natural fermentation under a blanket of CO2). This technique provides a fresh fruity and lighter style red wine. It then spent 6 months in 1 year old French oak puncheons which were used to lend concentration and polish to this truly unique wine.
NOTES: The "PTG" or Passetoutgrain in French showcases notes of black and red fruits along with the hallmark spice, tobacco, and mineral/earthy quality that we expect from this vineyard. With a medium body and silky mouthfeel, this wine is best suited to duck, game, or charcuterie. The blend is 48/40/12 Pinot Noir/Gamay/Pinot Gris.
